"He is the light of my life, the sun in my morning,
the most charming and discreet of beggars at my table.
He will play the clown when I am sad..always there to
charm me and make me smile.
He is my ear when I need to tell a secret, or someone I
can trust more than any other. He will dance for me (and
with me), talk to me, be my most enthusiastic travelling
companion with the most charmimg manners. His personality
has so many facets as a priceless gem". What more can
I say?........
KENNEL
HISTORY
From
the moment I could talk I asked my parents for a puppy
....with no luck....they told me: Its just a silly phase
your going through (just like the song) and so they gave
me a stuffed dog and a diary with a picture of a dog on
the front cover to stop my constant nagging. Well,
thats where it all started...... so when I was 23
years old I got my first job in a pharmacy as an assistant
and so could then afford to move into to my very first
apartment.
With my first salary I bought ..(guess what??).. a
Yorkshire Terrier and I called her "Vanessa",
she was MY first pet and in thiose days I had no
ambitions to show her or to breed her with others.
However, someone suggested I entered her at the
International exhibition in Arnhem (May 1982) Wow what a
result, I was hooked from there!!!!!

..........Nice little bitch, good show condition,
showing nicely, small little head and good expression,
sound in body, moving free, even topline, coat texture
okay for age colour coming through.........Very Good 2.
Arnhem: May 29 1982/judge:Kolbe.
Vanessa
never did better than "very good" and
"good" and soon I began to realize that it takes
a whole lot more to get to the top of this tree!!!
But....the bug had bitten me and I was soon addicted to
this new way of life.... probably forever...On September
9, 1983, Vanessa had her first and only litter.
Unfortunately only one puppy, (a bitch) survived and with
her a new kennel name was born, This was the first "A
MAIDEN EFFORT" puppy that was ever bred ...her
name???????????????
"A
Maiden Efforts Angel of Delight" ...........what else could i
call her??????.

In 1984 I found this one photograph in the Dutch dog
magazine"ONZE
HOND".
The text published underneath said that it was a
"HAVANESE" and that this was as yet an unknown
breed in Holland. This rare little dog was shown at the
exhibition in Arnhem (Holland) in 1983. The owner was
Mrs.Monika Moser from Germany, the name of the dog was
"SRRs Mr. Sandman" (Imported from the USA).
I was interested immediately, a new "challenge"
in the dog circuit was eacatly what I was looking for all
this time. I contacted the Dutch Kennel Club for further
information (which they could not give me) they could only
tell me that this breed of dog was not yet being bred in
Holland.
I couldn't hide my curiousity any longer and so wrote a
letter to the owner of "Mr. Sandman". She
replied very quickly and....sent me lots of photos of dogs
bred by the Moser family under the kennel name
"Pillowtalks".

They looked very different from "Mr. Sandman" and
were real beauties!!
It
was love at first sight....once bitten forever smitten !!
At that time there were only 20 registered Havanese in
Europe and it was the Moser family who imported them from
the USA to Europe.
They put me on their waiting list and in May 1985 my first
Havanese came to Holland!! Her name was "Pillowtalks
Chicita", she was two years old, snow white and she
became the founding bitch of my Havanese Kennel "A
MAIDEN EFFORT" .
